Design Brief: Full Refurbishment

Budget: Middle of the road

• As always, I had an in-depth initial consultation with my client. I have worked with this client on two previous projects and
  each project has been a completely different brief/design.
• The rip out unfortunately revealed leaks underneath the property which caused severe delays and re-scheduling to work
  around this.
• The manifold for the underfloor heating was going to be a small one located in the hall but turned out to be a large structure
  in the corner of the dining room. My client said she would live with it but I came up with a better idea, cancelled the intended
  piece of furniture and designed a piece which concealed the manifold in one of the cabinets.
• My client wanted a breakfast bar so guests could chat whilst she was cooking. I felt the space of the lounge would be
  inhibited if we did this so I put two rotating chairs in the lounge which worked well.
• Initially, my client asked for an Art Deco flavour in the lounge but well into the project decided she would like jungle fabric on
  the dining room furniture. For me it had to say something Art Deco so after exhausting many avenues I found a jungle fabric
  with an Art Deco background.
